The Monthly Meeting of the Sharon Historical Commission and Sharon Historic District Commission was held at 7:30 PM in the Sharon Town offices with Chairperson Shirley Schofield, Vice-Chairperson Gordon Hughes, Member David Martin, Member Robert Young, Member Deborah Pitman, Alternate Brent Gundlah and Alternate Reese Schroeder in attendance.
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM.
Minutes
Sheila Halper with Attorney Henry Katz – 178 North Main Street
Although an interesting presentation was given by Ms. Halper of old items found in and around the property, there was little pertinent information regarding the future of this wonderful old structure. The owner was invited to return with architect’s renderings or plans after consultation with the Town Building Inspector.
Brent Gundlah – 22 North Main Street
After refusing himself, Mr. Gundlah presented the need for and plans to redo the roof as well as aluminum gutters and downspouts.
VOTED: (Pitman/Young) Unanimously voted to allow the Gundlahs’ to proceed with the work as presented.
Joe Kent – Town Building Inspector
Mr. Kent has requested specific guidelines for the Historic Districts. He will be invited to the May meeting for a discussion.
Public Meeting, April 28th
Displays planned which will also be used at Town Meeting. Sharon Television will be invited by member Young. Chairperson Schofield will invite our Selectmen and Ben Puritz.
Town Meeting
Member Young will attend pre-Town Meeting April 27th as he will present the warrant articles at Town Meeting. Chairperson Schofield has taken a “LOA” from her position as Town Meeting Worker so as to prevent conflicts of interest.

Drake Barn
The outhouse has been offered to the Historical Society by the new owners. It must be picked up ASAP. Historical items not wanted by Mrs. Drake will also be made available.

VOTED: (Schroeder/Young) Voted unanimously to adjourn meeting at 10:00 PM.
